I started the premium section to help Canadians maximize their points to fly lie-flat, but received a ton of feedback from people who wanted to know about the best business class deals in cash too. I am a huge fan of business class travel (but not a huge fan of the price tag).

Flying Business on WestJet’s Dreamliner

In every newsletter going forward I am going to send the best economy deals to everyone, and the best business class deals (using cash and/or points) to the premium subscribers only!

As this is going to be significantly more work for me, I am going to be raising Jetsetter Premium pricing from $9.99 CAD a month or $99.99 CAD a year to $14.99 a month or $149.99 a year.

Before you subscribe, a few notes:

  • I will mainly feature business class products the lie-flat and have direct aisle access, though I will feature others if the price is right.

    • Keep in mind airlines always reserve to switch the scheduled aircraft on us.

  • I am looking for the best deals possible, but business class flying is never incredibly cheap.

    • Expect to still pay $2,000 - $3,000 CAD round trip for most deals (though I’m always searching for better). Keep in mind Google Flights shows the average price for a lie-flat pod is $4,000 - $5,000 CAD.

      • One deal you book can easily pay for a premium membership!

  • I can’t control the airline’s pricing, but can report on the best deals and value out there right now.

    • In summer I regularly found pods for around $2,200 CAD round-trip, but currently the average deal is around $2,900 CAD.

    • Similarly, Air Canada had great deals in the Summer. However, there have been very few deals going into Fall.

  • More competition means better prices! Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary have the most competition for the coveted lie-flat seats and will get more deals.

    • I will try to cover across Canada, but I expect most of the deals will come from the largest cities.
