Air Canada has heavily discounted their already reasonable fares from Calgary to Tokyo this winter. I found some decent deals for other cities too but our Calgarian friends win the deal of the day!

🌐 Route: Calgary to Tokyo via Vancouver on Air Canada

• 🎫 Fare: Amazing deal from $893 roundtrip

• ✈️ Class: Economy (but for those looking for business class you can always buy a standard or flex economy and look to buy an upgrade).

• 📆 Dates: Prices are as low as $893 for dates in November, December, January and February.

• ⚠️ Note: These exact flights were $1,600 yesterday! Also if you just book the Vancouver to Tokyo leg they are $1,450+

While Calgary has the best deal I tried my best to find options from other cities… Here is what I came up with:

  • 💸 Price: Starting from $1,320 round trip

  • 📅 When: January 2024

  • 📌 Note: I know its annoying to not have a direct flight, but at least you can enjoy Japan Airlines on the trans-pacific flights.

• 🌍 Route: Edmonton to Tokyo via Calgary and Vancouver with Air Canada

  • 💸 Price: Starting from $1,095 round trip

  • 📅 When: January/February 2024

  • 📌 Note: I can only get this deal to work if you connect through both Calgary and Vancouver (I know that’s annoying - Calgary bested you this time… At least the Oilers are better 🤷)

• 🌍 Route: Winnipeg to Tokyo via Calgary and Vancouver with Air Canada

  • 💸 Price: From $1,132 round trip

  • 📅 When: January/February 2024

  • 📌 Note: This is an even worse version of what Edmonton gets as you have to layover overnight in Calgary. Alternatively you could book separate cheap direct flights to Calgary before/after.
